Clinically assessed · appropriately monitored

IV therapy, guided by clinical context.

Suitability screening, appropriate formulation and qualified administration—because an infusion should form part of considered care, not a one-size-fits-all menu.

Clinically assessed IV therapy

A route of administration—not a cure-all.

Intravenous therapy enters the bloodstream directly. That may be clinically useful in the right context, but it also requires appropriate indication, formulation, screening and monitoring.

At Medify, suitability is considered before IV therapy. Relevant history, current medication, allergies and the reason for treatment are reviewed. Formulation and frequency are determined individually; a popular “drip name” is not a medical indication.

What the process includes

  • Pre-treatment suitability screening
  • Clinical review or prescription where required
  • Qualified administration and observation
  • Clear explanation of expected limits and possible adverse effects
  • Referral or investigation when symptoms require diagnosis rather than an infusion

Why assessment comes first

Medical context

The team considers relevant conditions, medication, allergies and the reason for requesting IV therapy.

Appropriate formulation

Any formulation must be suitable for the individual and clinically appropriate for the intended purpose.

Qualified administration

IV therapy is administered and monitored by an appropriately qualified member of the clinical team.

Review and escalation

Unexpected symptoms or unsuitable requests are directed to medical assessment or appropriate referral.

Please note: IV therapy is not a substitute for emergency care, appropriate nutrition, treatment of an underlying condition or specialist referral. Benefit depends on the indication and individual clinical context.
